ExecuJet South Africa receives EASA approval
ExecuJet South Africa, a leading private aviation services company and associated company of the global ExecuJet Aviation Group, takes pleasure in announcing the approval of its maintenance division at Lanseria International Airport by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as a Part 145 approved Maintenance Organisation as of 1st August 2008.
The work of the European Aviation Safety Agency focuses on ensuring the highest levels of civil aviation safety. This is achieved through certification of aviation products and approval of organisations that provide aviation services. In addition, EASA also aids in the development and implementation of a standardised European regulatory framework.

EASA Part 145 is the Implementing Regulation issued by the agency that governs the requirements to be met by an aircraft maintenance organisation in order for it to qualify for the issue of this EASA approval. In order to obtain approval to be an aeronautical repair station under EASA Part 145, an organisation is required to demonstrate, in line with documented policy and procedures, compliance with the highest international aircraft maintenance standards.

Having obtained this approval ExecuJet South Africa is now in a position to perform maintenance of European registered aircraft and components. The approval covers Line and Base maintenance for specified aircraft, engines and components.

"We are extremely proud to have obtained this EASA approval. This is a testament to the quality of our staff, their hard work, training and skills. Clearly, our systems, safety standards, process and procures have met the strict requirements set out by EASA." says Ettore Poggi, Managing Director of ExecuJet South Africa. Steve Bothma, ExecuJet South Africa's Maintenance Director adds "This also means that, many foreign aircraft are now able to visit our facility for approved and recognised maintenance services, and we will soon extend these capabilities to our new Cape Town facility".

ExecuJet South Africa is to be congratulated on the achievement of this approval, the first of its kind for a maintenance organisation providing services to the general aviation industry in southern Africa.
