Canadair was the largest diversified manufacturer in the Canadian aerospace industry, having built more than 4,400 civil and military aircraft since beginning operations in 1944. It was most renowned for the design and development of the Challenger business jet. The Canadair brand has subsequently been dropped, but the Challenger product line is still as popular as ever, encompassing the Challenger 300, 605 and 850 models.
Learjet, a pioneer in the business jet industry, formally joined the Bombardier Aerospace family in mid-June 1990. The flight of the first Learjet (Model 23) took place on March 17 1966. Since that time, over 2000 Learjets have been delivered, making it the most successful business jet range of all time. The product line includes the Learjet 40XR, 45XR and the 60XR.
The most recent product offering from Bombardier Aerospace, the Global range, represents the ultimate in luxury, convenience and range. The product line currently consists of the Bombardier flagship model the ultra-long range Global Express XRS and the Global 5000. Both are categorised in the super large jet segment.
